JOB DESCRIPTION

The SEI Wealth Platform has a challenging career opportunity for a Technical Lead for the Performance Engineering team. This position requires a foundation of software development knowledge, and the ability to work in an Agile team environment and expand existing development skills through technical project work. You should be adaptable, possess a wide range of technical skills, and demonstrate the ability to understand financial services business requirements. You should be able to review individual code as well as technically lead a team of SRE / Performance engineers; and have the ability to switch context quickly and efficiently with Enterprise architects, database engineers, project managers, performance testers, technical operations and other platform personnel.

What you will do:

• Has experience developing  and designing technical solutions based on reading and understanding business and functional requirements following the Agile process

• Has produced high-quality code and ability recommend performance improvements and meet non functional requirements

• Analyze and recommend optimization solutions during the testing or pre-production phases of the software delivery lifecycle; coordinating changes with project team leaders and cross-work team members
• Provide technical leadership to project team members and responding to inquiries regarding tuning or questions around application performance monitoring

• Interact with data architects, other tech leads, team members and project manager as required addressing technical issues

• Suggest and implement process improvements for estimating, SRE testing processes.

Provide technical problem resolution and application support, as required

What we need from you:

  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or another related field or equivalent
  • A minimum of 7 years of prior work experience with an application development organization; must demonstrate experience delivering systems and projects from inception through implementation
  • Alternatively, we will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field; plus 5 years of experience reflecting ability in the skill sets required.
  • Work experience in developing Web Applications with Java, Java Script, HTML, JSPs. MVC frameworks.
  • Spring MVC and Angular development experience is a plus.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working on multi-tiered applications that are designed, developed and delivered as cloud- based solutions:
    • Designing and developing Cloud Native applications,
    • Creating microservices applications using technologies such as REST, JSON, Spring Boot.  and Java
    • Deploying and configuring well performing Cloud Native applications
  • Experience with:
    • Relational databases such as Oracle, Mongo DB, Redis, MySQL, SQL Server
    • Unstructured data and persistence model such as MongoDB, Snowflake
    • DevOps toolsets for versioning, containers, such as Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins
    • ORM tools (Hibernate, JPA)
    • Event/data streaming platform, such as Kafka
    • UI Web development framework experience
    • Cloud Native Kubernetes application development

Additional knowledge and/or experience desired:

  • Development experience in the financial services industry including banking, wealth management, investment management, asset data and investment processing
  • Possesses Azure or AWS certifications
  • Test Driven Development
  • Application migrations to the cloud
  • CI/CD and DevOps concepts, tools like Ansible, Terraform and library management tools like Artifactory
  • Identity Technologies (OAuth, Azure AD, AWS IAM, OKTA, Ping)
  • Angular or React
