Work Permits, Background Checks and Privacy
Will SEI sponsor work permits?
SEI retains the discretion at all times to decide whether or not to sponsor a job candidate for an appropriate temporary work visa. SEI also retains the discretion to decide whether to apply for a temporary work permit for a current employee who may wish to change temporary visa categories. All of these decisions are dependent upon the operation of the immigration laws and regulations governing the particular situation, as well as our business needs. SEI is under no obligation - legal or otherwise - to extend an offer of employment to, or to hire, any candidate who does not possess the requisite work authorization to work at SEI at the time the offer of employment is made.
Will SEI conduct background and reference checks?
In most cases, background checks are conducted after an applicant has been extended an offer of employment and may vary country to country.
Will SEI inquire about my political contributions?
SEC Rule 206(4)-5 "Political Contributions by Certain Investment Advisers" (the "Rule") may place certain restrictions on certain subsidiaries of SEI as a result of a candidate's past and future political contributions. Therefore, an offer for a position may be contingent on the candidate providing SEI a completed questionnaire regarding political contributions made by the candidate and members of his/her household, and that SEI may reject the candidate's application if SEI determines in its sole discretion that the effect of such political contributions under the Rule could have adverse impact on SEI's current or prospective business activities and strategies. Any misrepresentation of or omission of any contributions from this information request, will be cause for a candidate's rejection or dismissal of employment.
